They still make brand new parts for them, and you can buy a completely restored example for around $50k so go figure.

That's for low-miles and and better than new condition though. You can get a decent one for a fair bit less than that. Great thing is, you'll never be looking for parts and you will have a car loved by just about everybody. Here is what DeLorean has for sale currently. And if you really, really like attention there are companies that turn them into replica time machines for $10-20k extra.
